Game Update 06/01/09

Progress slowed over the Christmas period somewhat, however the following prgress had been made;

- Animation for the T-850 walking is 50% complete.  Much of the animation at the beginning was planned to be done via stop-motion; after watching the jerky and poor results from the first attempt this was scrapped and abandoned.  Instead, animation has been done manually and was very time consuming, though definitely much better.  More movement animations still need to be completed.

- More detail has gone into the aerial Hunter Killers, including some rather beautiful shooting lighting effects for the HK's in the distance and some cool looking animation details on the HK's that attack the player(s) from in front.

Below is a quick screenshot of the 50% complete T-850 model in the game, let us know what you think in the Word Rooms!

Game Update 09/12/08

I just had to show off the first in-game pic of Terminator 3: The Arcade Game - feast your eyes on this bad-boy, a close-up T-800 being shot and recoiling from the blast!  Effects shown in-screen here include the gun flame from the weapon of player 1 (or "Terminator One", as is known in the game!), whilst upon being hit the T-800 is not only blown back slightly but it also flashes white to give a more visual indication of being shot.  This also helps create a more arcade-like feel to the game.

Note that this is just a work-in-progress picture of the game and does not represent what the finished versions quality.

Game Update 07/12/08

Image capturing has begun and the models being used look absolutely F.I.N.E. fine!  Lighting has been an important factor going into this shoot - careful choices about time of day and colour/light strengths were made to try and ensure the models fit in with the lighting featured in the game.  From the work i've done so far i am very happy with how well the characters have been lit and below is an example of one of the models used today, the T-800 endoskeleton!

Other updates since November include upgrades to the player's on-screen HUD, the addition of a new arial Hunter-Killer to shoot down and some flashy text effects that show mission objectives as well as helping to move the story along.

Overall, the game is moving forward very nicely indeed!

Game Update 30/11/08

Just a quick update to let you all know that the game mechanics for the opening level are coming along very nicely indeed.  The engine runs very smoothly and the graphics look extra sharp.  Features of note include:

-  The air Hunter Killers have been created and look exceptionally cool, especially when firing at the player!

-  This week good old Royal Mail delivered my T-800 endoskeleton model that i will be rendering in the game.  It looks seriously wicked and will hopefully look fantastic in-game!

-  The title music has been added to the title screens and it adds to the authenticity of the Terminator experience, as well as just sounding amazing!

Stay tuned for future Game Updates where more info will be revealed, screen shots added and videos uploaded.

Hasta la vista, baby!
